With global aerospace OEMs facing record order backlogs and aggressive production ramp-ups, ANT Industries is emerging as one of the UK’s most capable and resilient precision engineering suppliers. Operating from its 28,000 ft² facility in Atherstone, the firm is seeing unprecedented demand for its components – and answering that call with a powerful blend of investment, capability, and culture.
“We’ve never seen anything quite like it,” says Shaun Rowley, Managing Director at ANT Industries. “There’s a level of urgency from OEMs we haven’t experienced since the early 2000s.”
At the heart of ANT’s offering is its specialist capability in 5-axis CNC machining, enabling the precise and repeatable manufacture of complex aerospace components to the most stringent tolerances. With expertise in exotic materials like nimonic alloys, titanium, and other high-temperature metals, ANT is a trusted supplier for more than 20 global aerospace and turbine engine platforms.
“Our 5-axis machining centres are state-of-the-art,” Rowley explains. “But what makes the real difference is the knowledge of the people who run them. When a customer needs a critical rotating component machined from a nickel alloy billet, they trust us because we understand how to get it right, first time, every time.”
In addition to machining, ANT provides an integrated suite of services including non-destructive testing (NDT), full component inspection, and assembly. All processes are underpinned by its NADCAP accreditation for special processes and its AS9100 certification for quality management.
“These standards are living systems. We have invested heavily in advanced inspection equipment, digital quality tracking, and cross-functional teams that work closely together from design to final delivery. That gives our customers confidence not just in the parts, but in the process.”
To manage growth effectively, ANT is doubling down on workforce development. Long-serving engineers, many of whom began their careers as apprentices at ANT, now play a central role in mentoring the firm’s newest recruits.
“There’s a myth that manufacturing is about machines,” Rowley adds. “But the machine is only as good as the engineer behind it. At ANT, we combine the wisdom of experience with the energy of youth. That’s how we’re able to scale while maintaining the quality and responsiveness our customers rely on.”
With new cross-generational project teams, investment in digital systems, and a culture that celebrates shared responsibility, ANT Industries is proving that UK precision engineering has a vital role to play in the aerospace sector’s global recovery.
“We’re setting the standard for what a forward-thinking, highly capable aerospace supplier can be.”
