1972
A.N. Tools Limited was formed in 1972 by Alan Albrighton and Alan Naylor,
two skilled Toolmakers.
The core business was the design and manufacture of tools for local sheet
metal works with the occasional machining of commercial components.
Early
80's
In the early eighties (due to the lack of tooling) the Company turned to
the manufacture of components and prototypes for the Nuclear Industry. This
lead to a formal quality system being introduced enabling us to take on Aerospace
work, progressing from ground handling equipment to components and assemblies
for a variety of customers.
For many years the Company expanded steadily, producing components and tools
as sub-tier sub-contractors for the Aerospace/Nuclear Industries.
1988
In 1988 the Company appointed Shaun Rowley to the board.
1989-1997
With the reduction of nuclear work the Company decided to invest heavily
in CNC machine tools and target the Aerospace Industry for work. To achieve
this we were required to have a recognised quality system so, during 1989
we applied for and gained BS5750 certification followed by approvals from
most major sources, culminating in Rolls-Royce Approval in 1997.
1996-2004
1996 saw the retirement of Alan Albrighton leaving the remaining Directors
running the Company.
A.N. Tools’ core business (80%) is now devoted to precision machining and
assembly for the Aerospace, Automotive, Petrochemical and allied industries,
the balance being special purpose machines and tooling. The Company
now offers a complete service from design through to finished product.
The
Directors philosophy is for the continuous improvement of customer satisfaction
through improved quality and efficiency.
2006
From August 2006 due to the increased volume and diversity of business the
company decided to use the trading title
ANT Industries which is a division of A N Tools Ltd to give the company
a global image.
